cardamom

£10.00

A herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), Elettaria cardamomum, is used to produce the spice known as cardamom, which can be whole or powdered dried fruits or seeds. The seeds have a flavor that is warm, slightly spicy, and intensely aromatic—almost like camphor. They are a common seasoning in Scandinavian pastries as well as South Asian cuisine, notably curries.

In order to help local farmers, we sell the best cardamom that is directly harvested from nearby farms in the Idukki district. The collected cardamom is dried, graded, and stored in an extremely hygienic environment.
